I.     “Born From Above”

John 3:1-8
John 4:23-24
Ephesians 1:13-14; 1 Peter 1:3
John 3:3 - Greek Word Study:
Born: gennao: meaning to procreate or to Regenerate, from genos; to be begotten or be born; (metaph.) Born of God or Of the Spirit, in a spiritual sense.(Only in Johannine writings) to have received from God a new spiritual life and to be born again from above.
Again: anothem: From above; from the first, anew; Of time, meaning from the first, from the beginning (Lk. 1:13, Ac 26:5, Gal. 4:9). Also, again, another time, as in Jn.3:3, 7, translated “be born again”. This could also be translated “to be born from above”; doubtless equal to being “born of God” in Jn. 1:13. In Jn. 3:4, Nicodemus clearly takes it as (syn.) ‘deutron’ “a second time”.
See: eido: properly, to see (Lit. or Fig.); by implication (in the perf. only) to know: - be aware, behold, have knowledge, look on, perceive

2 Corinthians 5:17
Isaiah 44:3
