Greek Word Study:
Obtaining an Inheritance: ‘kleroo’’: to allot, to assign; from ‘kleros’: ‘Lot’, passive voice only here in NT: [to receive lot]; to ‘obtain an inheritance’.
Predestined: ‘proorizo’: to limit in advance, i.e. (fig) predetermine: - decreed, predestined.
Purpose: ‘prothesis’: from ‘protithemi’; a setting forth; specially, I. the Show-bread ‘as exposed before God’; N. to purpose, to openly display something. II. Fig. what one proposes in one’s mind, or purposes to himself; spoken of the Eternal Purpose and Counsel of God. (Ro 8:28; 9:11; Eph 1:113:11; 2 Tim 1:9)
